Willis Hare is committed to its tradition of excellence as it prepares students for the future. As we prepare for the year, let's "Begin With The End In Mind focusing on One Way Up to Mastery." We will look back and make sense of what happened and what we learned. We will look forward and anticipate what is coming up and know what we will need to do to achieve our goals.
We are service providers. Students, parents, and the community are our customers. We look forward to providing exciting learning opportunities for our students through Student Government Association, Safety Patrol, and Junior Beta Club. Continued emphasis will be placed on providing students with strong skills in reading, writing, and math.
We expect continued, steady progress in our target goals of raising achievement levels, closing achievement gaps, and promoting effective relationships with parents, legal guardians, and the community.
The quality of education we provide is always better when school, home, and the community join as partners in education. We look forward to your involvement and encouragement as we begin our year!

We, the staff of Northampton County High School-East, believing in the dignity of our students, will provide a quality education that will allow and encourage our students to become productive and valued citizens.
Northampton County High School-East (NCHS-East) is located two miles south of Highway 158. It is approximately halfway between Jackson and Conway, in the community known as Faison’s Old Tavern.
NCHS-East was built in 1964 to replace Conway, Jackson, Seaboard, Rich Square and Woodland High Schools. By 1980, because of high school consolidation, Willis Hare and W. S. Creecy High Schools were added to the list. NCHS-East has replaced all high schools on the eastern end of the county.
The campus of NCHS-East contains three buildings. The administrative building houses most of the courses for English, Math, Fine Arts, Science, Foreign Language, Exceptional Children, Cosmetology, Family & Consumer Science and Physical Education. The English-Social Studies building now houses the Freshman Academy along with a few other courses to include Technology and Social Studies courses. The Career-Tech building houses the classrooms for Business, Marketing, Construction Technology, Automotive Technology, and Health Occupations courses. There is also acreage for our football, baseball, softball, and cross country fields, as well as four tennis courts.
The present enrollment is 564. The staff consists of 58 members who are dedicated to the growth and development of each student. Due to the dedication of the staff, students, and the community, NCHS-East is striving to improve the overall achievement of all students.

Northeast Academy - (Private) |

We, of Northeast Academy, base our philosophy on the importance of developing each child in the areas of mental, moral, social, and physical endeavors. We believe it is the responsibility of the school to provide adequate instruction, materials, and a Christian environment which will develop to the fullest each child's' individual capabilities. We further believe that the school should create within each child the desire to accept his responsibility in a democratic society.
In 1966, a group of Northampton County residents received a charter to open the first and only private school in Northampton County. The building that now serves as the high school was bought in June, 1966 and served as the first building of education for four years. This new school was named Northeast Academy, A Christian School, Inc. Doors opened on September 7, 1966 and thirty five students attended. These students, from Gaston, Seaboard, Margrettsville, Jackson and Conway were instructed by six faculty members.
Under the guidance of a new headmaster and more faculty members, within four years enrollment had increased creating a great need for more buildings. By 1970 construction was complete on the buildings which were to serve as elementary and junior high classrooms.
In 1973 an additional building was added which houses the cafeteria and gymnasium.
